    Weight loss and general nutrition...

     

    "When I came to see Jaclyn Reutens, I was 94.6kg. I was at my heaviest. I am now hovering between 68kg to 72kg, at my pre-pregnancy weight, at my fittest and at my tonest. I lost approximately 25kg in 7 months, in the healthiest way - no crash diets, no malnutrition, no insane hunger pangs. We spent the first 2 months actively shrinking my stomach by reducing my portion sizes and dealing with the source of my emotional eating. I had a strong association to snacking while watching netflix as well as eating after my lectures, which end in the evening. Swept also by the mass media's idea that carbs are evil, I ate little or no carbs, which was one of the things Jaclyn educated me about and reset my mindset on. Carbs were good and necessary for a healthy functioning body that can self-regulate to homeostasis. My meals included healthy portions of carbs, vegetables and protein along with fruits for completeness and fullness. I started having breakfast that further upped my metabolism. Alongside that, Jaclyn taught me that weight loss is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise. I liked moving, so I walked about 10000 to 14000 steps a day which then evolved to including other forms of exercise such as swimming, climbing/bouldering and personal training. Eventually it came to a point where simply sleeping more helped with the weight loss. Some weeks, I lost 2kg and some weeks 0.5kg, other weeks nothing, but it is this art of tweaking when necessary that Jaclyn was a master and expert at. She knew exactly what she was doing when I slowed down or plateaued or even when I was losing too fast. I have recommended Jaclyn wholeheartedly to so many friends and family and will continue to do so - she essentially gave me a new lease of youth and I am grateful for this gift."

    "I decided to see Ms Jaclyn more than a year ago due to my poor relationship with food that i had at that time. At that time, I had lost 10 kilograms through unhealthy means and was in a tough spot mentally. I realised that I was not doing well and wanted to chat with someone and seek help in my weight loss journey while also repairing my relationship with food.

     

    When I first met her, my first impression was that she is very kind and knowledgeable.     "I am an academic overachiever and am highly disciplined when it comes to my studies. Despite my strong academic rigour, I had difficulties in keeping my weight down. As a teenager, i had tried numerous diet regimes but to no avail. To me, everything else was easy; yet losing weight did not seem to make a breakthrough.

    In the span of 2 years, i had lost close to 10kg and I have stayed in the 'Healthy' BMI range ever since. Yet, it is not just the sustainable weight loss that transformed me. My body had

    also indirectly learnt to differentiate between Nutrient-Dense Foods and Ultra-Processed Foods (UPF), and to seek out the former. During the fruiIul sessions with Ms Jaclyn, she debunked the myths and misconceptions behind calories and fasting, and did not antagonise eating UPF, which helped me to establish a healthy relationship with food. Sticking it out with the meal plan helped weaned me off the sudden food cravings. The previously conscious

    decision to choose between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ food now becomes automatic. My newly discovered hobby is to cook nutritious meals. In addition, I now exercise regularly to stay fit and ensure that I have a variety of both Cardio and Endurance exercises.

     

    The knowledge gained from my experience with Ms Jaclyn will definitely stay with me for life. I understand the importance of having a healthy and balanced diet, and regular exercise in

    "For several years I was the President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). A demanding but very interesting job. Being a University President means interacting with many people often during dinners, almost every day. I had to eat for my university. Often very nice but I have to admit that during the years I gained some weight and at the day of my retirement, I was 104 kg. Too much! Now being free from all the formal commitments I decided it was the right moment to make a change, getting rid of those extra kilos.     "Firstly I am so grateful that I got introduced to you. You changed me completely inside and outside. I approached Jaclyn for weight loss in March 2017 as I had gained a lot of weight after my 2nd baby.

     

    Her diet and her advise made me lose 18 kgs over one year and that is remarkable. Everyone noticed the difference and admired me . I started feeling so much more confident from inside and I started loving myself more. I was also in the midst of restarting my career and this weight loss gave me more confidence to go and speak in interviews. I felt so good from inside too.     Jaclyn’s diet is very simple and part of your daily eating. All she asks you to do is eat 3 good meals in a day and no snacking in the middle. She asks you what do you generally eat and then she will make your meal plan around it. She just wants you to break up your meal into carbs, veggies and protein and she ensures you have all these 3 components in your plate in the portion sizes that she will give you.

     

    It also becomes very easy to eat outside meals as all you have to do is ensure you eat your carbs, veggies and protein. You will understand the portion sizes after doing it for a month at home.

     

    I found the diet very helpful and very nutritious. My hemoglobin and my vitamin b12 both came up after doing the diet.

     

    A lot of my friends go to Jaclyn after seeing the difference in me and I recommend her to anyone who would like to see a weight loss and get into a healthier lifestyle.
